This is a good beginning book, with helpful tips on grooming,

training and showing your dog.  This book provides a very nice foundation for

the beginning of your new hobby.

 

The Winning Edge: Show Ring Secrets (Howell Reference Books)

This book more in depth information on

getting a leg up in the confirmation ring.

Additionally, George Alston offers various seminars

throughout the year that you may be interested in attending.

Classes   

Junior's Age

Classes

At least 9 years old, and under 12 Junior
At least 12 years old, and under 15 Intermediate
At least 15 years old, and under 18 Senior

Additionally, each age division is again split by "experience."

For those who have never shown in junior showmanship, they will begin in the Novice

class.  They will remain in the Novice class until they have accumulated

three first place wins with competition.  Once those have

been achieved, the junior handler moves in the Open class.
